The government of Ghana has suddenly failed under the pretext of lip-service approach in the fight of the novel coronavirus pandemic where the precious lives of our young girls and boys are being mischievously traded with politics.
The ‘robot and go-it-alone style” has symbolized our weakness to confront the covid-19 crisis, of which we have reflected our focus as a nation on politics instead of facilitating measures to curb the situation. We cannot solemnly invest the sovereignty of the country into political bigotry. In a seeming attempt to deflect from our own widely criticized handling of the pandemic…which has led to the death of over 139 Ghanaians to date, policy-makers especially health experts and civil societies including well-meaning Ghanaians have a duty to play in the fight of the pandemic. The gradually wide spread of the virus in the Senior High Schools are concerns that need a holistic approach by all stakeholders.
If the lack of robust leadership in the fight of covid-19 is missing, we will severely pay the price. For that core reason, the government’s response to the covid-19 should be indeed thoroughly canvas for sufficient policy plans to facilitate the safety of our children in school. If not, we will not only fail to stand up for vigorous core strategic road-map to end the spread of the virus, we will rather actualize grounds to increase it spread.
We cannot pretend to adopt the adamance lifestyle and say all is well. The Health Ministry, the Education Ministry and the covid-19 team even though their best have been exhibited, we further encourage them not to put off their candles to continue ensuring that the novel coronavirus does not rest on our lives..
We reiterate the government not to allow politics to gain grounds in the health community even though it has been an undeniable fact that politics are not playing a key role in the fight of the covid-19. The entrenched position of government officials to facilitate their parochial interest is a recipe to put the lives of students in danger. ’We cannot wait to hit by the face with increasing death tolls in our schools before taking actions’’. We therefore appealed to the president to consider the vast spread of the virus in the schools and do the blissful thing and closed down the school amidst cancelling the WASSCE and BECE.
Despite the several calls from civil organizations, political parties, the parent-teacher association, Damak Sanitation Watch and Health also conceived the same idea for the reason being that, the virus is gradually catching up with students in the schools and thought over it closer and cancellation. Our information has it that the Ministry of Education however, claimed that experts’ advice indicates that enough facilities have been provided to mitigate the spread of the virus in our schools. Thus, there is no course for alarm.
However, such self-centered expert analysis has failed to arrest the situation. Barely a month since the schools reopened, close to 14 Senior High Schools are said to have been affected with the virus and out of the 14 schools, over 130 students tested covid-19 positive. That notwithstanding, another student from Gwirama Senior High School in the Western Region , Nathaniel Yankey lost his life believed to be the Covid-19.
This reveals that the signs don’t look good and the lives of our wards matters most to us. Our concerns as parents and the position of the government are unparalleled and there is no clear cut solution to address the problem in the affected schools. If the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, the Cocoa board, and the Ministry of Health are said to have been closed down due to the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic, what are our children still doing in the schools?
These are key legitimate questions that many parents continue asking; The president of the land has gone into self-isolation, the Education Minister, is self-quarantined, the Health Minister is self-quarantined at the time whose presence matters most. The safety of students and the entire country are sitting on tentacles.
We want to find out whether the education experts thought of students who tested positive how they will participate in writing the exams? And even if their conditions permit them to do so, under what circumstances will their exams papers be marked. All these are pertinent questions that need answers considering their health stigma.
If we are to consider the discrete response of the Director of Election at the EC who was answering some questions in one of the radio stations, stated equivocally that people who tested positive are considered to be people who are sick and would not have time to think of registration. And if this is applicable in that context, it means that same statement applies in the students’ case. Hence the government should not offer the lives of our children for a political game and do the needful thing where it’s applicable.

The government of Ghana led by the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has suddenly failed under the pretext of lip-service approach in the fight of the novel coronavirus pandemic where the precious lives of our young girls and boys are being mischievously traded with politics.
President Nana Ad do’s ”robot and go-it-alone style” has symbolized his response to the COVID-19 crisis, of which he has reflected his focus on politics instead of the crying Ghanaians who solemnly invested the sovereignty of the country into his hands. In a seeming attempt to deflect from his own widely criticized handling of the pandemic…which has led to the death of over 139 Ghanaians to date, Nana Addo turned health experts and civil societies including well-meaning Ghanaians into ”teddy- birds” in his bid to cover up the widespread of coronavirus in the Senior High Schools with the sole aim of achieving political agenda.
A clear vision of robust leadership has been sorely lacking in the Nana Addo administration’s response to the covid-19. Indeed, throughout the crisis, the president did not only fail to stand up for vigorous core principles to end the spread of the virus but rather actualized grounds to increase it spread.
The adamance of the health ministry, the Education Ministry and the covid-19 team even though their best have been exhibited, their recent egocentric approach to the virus is eventually collapsing the trust of Ghanaians. The cogent influence in the health community is an undeniable fact that politics are not playing a key role in the fight of the covid-19…the president and his administration have suddenly taken an entrenched position to facilitate their parochial interest which tends to put the lives of students in danger. ‘We cannot wait to hit by the face with increasing death tolls in our schools before”. Imposed restrictions on the activities churches in Ghana in the name of fighting the coronavirus pandemic is brewing a bad energy among the clergy against the ruling government.
A group of concerned Pastors in Kumasi are boiling with rage and have gone far to finger the sitting President His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo for deliberately instituting what they have described as diabolic and anti-Christ type of restrictions aimed at opposing and collapsing churches in the country.
They expressed their agitations at a press briefing held on Monday, saying that the President through the enforcement of the covid regulations is treating Christian denominations as non-essential organizations and that restrictions that bar pastors from laying hands on members, social distancing, children prevented from attending service, pastors prevented from holding religious meetings in schools forms part of a grand scheme to fold up churches in Ghana”.
According to them, all the strict regulations totally conflict with their Christian practice, chastising further that the President through his agencies is bias towards them since he has until now failed to arrest any of his party followers who openly flouted the regulations after he arrested and remanded some Pastors over the same offence.
Addressing the media in Kumasi, leader for the group Rev Festus Abbey (founder and leader for Mount Zion Holy Chapel International) questioned the President on the one hour time limit imposed on church service. “Why this restriction and what is the true motive behind these regulations…Surprisingly other organizations and institutions have been allowed to operate without any restriction… Why only the church. For example we have market women who go to market from 6am to 6pm. We have institutions that operate eight hours every day. Why is it that only the church has been limited to just one hour?”
Apostle Godbless – Founder and Leader for Cornerstone Bible Church added that “from the look of things if Christians in Ghana fail to voice out in their numbers, the government will collapse churches in Ghana since majority of men of God won’t be able to hold service anymore”.
They are therefore calling on the President to lift all restrictions to prove his love for God and the Church.

Ladies and gentlemen of the press, we the NDC YOUTH in the northern part of Ghana call on you this afternoon to express our concern as fulanis to the first lady of republic of Ghana Her Excellency Hajjia Samira Bawumia.
Since she became the second lady of the Republic of Ghana as a Fulani which all fulanis including us now defected to NDC voted for her party (npp) and been proud of her but she has forgotten her brothers and sisters of the Ghanaian fulanis.
Fulanis has never experience ATROCITIES since Ghana’s independence like when we have a SECOND lady been a Fulani.
We the Ghanaian fulanis are really disappointed in our own sister Hajjia Samira Bawumia.
1) Fulanis are intimidated
2) Fulanis are being discriminated
3) Fulanis rights are been abused
4) Fulanis are being murdered in cold blood.
All these been meted out to the fulanis without any justice during their term of office, and our sister the second lady never thought of speaking for once since she became the second lady of republic of Ghana for almost 4years in office.
On top of it all, During Ghana 🇬🇭 card registration, almost all fulanis were denied access to register meanwhile we meet the requirements and same is happening in New voter registration.
And she has been silence on these issues as she been our most high hope to be coming to our aid but it has rather turned to be a great disappointment.
Fulanis are law abiding and we shall continue to be law abiding citizens and the only thing we want now is our freedom as citizens of Ghana 🇬🇭 that we can always exercise our constitutional right anytime the need be.
We are calling on the second Lady to respond to us now before she will come to us only when it’s time for her to seek for our votes for her party.
We pray and hope our sister will hear our cry and do the needful for us.
We the Concerned Youth at Abuakwa in the Atwima Nwabiagya South municipality of the Ashanti Region have expressed their disappiontment with their member of parliament ,Hon Emmanuel Agyei Anhwere, their Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Michael Amoah Awuku and the NPP leading government led by Nana Akufo Addo for neglected them from developmental projects in their area.
According to the Youth, they lacks so many developmental projects like poor road networks , poor sanitation, poor market structures and many other which is confronting their community but their member of parliament has tends his back to them.
They also added that, the one most very painful to them is the collapsing bridge which links from Abuakwa to Housing which has killed eight (8) people within one year and the road from Abuakwa to Tanoso which can take you a maximum of Five (5) minutes but due to traffic, it can take you a minimum of one (1) to two (2) hours, meanwhile, they have an executives in their area.
In an interview with the press, they added that they have informed their executives about all these problems but still remains concern.
They therefore assured the NPP Executives that, NPP will surely lose Atwima Nwabiagya South seat coming general election so they should forget that seat.
