The Concern citizens of sekyere Afram Plains has commended the government for good measures he has put in place to help curb the deadly covid 19 pandemic for released 2017 GH 166,280.62 One hundred and sixty thousand,two hundred and eighty Ghana CEDI’s,sixty pesewas of District Performance Assessment fund to the various municipals,metropolitans and Districts within the country to be used to fight against the corona virus pandemic.

Speaking to media in a news conference held at Drobonso Mr Boakye Yiadom the president of the concern citizens of sekyere Afram plains used the opportunity to appealed to all MMDAs to used the money for its intended purpose.

He however made passionate appealed to the citizens of the country to adhere to the directives given by world health organization to exhibit good personal hygiene to flee us from the corona virus pandemic.

AMANSIE WEST RURAL BANK LTD SUPPORTS GOV’T HOSPITALS IN AMANSIE WEST TO FIGHT COVID_19

The Board of Directors Of Amansie West Rural Bank Ltd at Amansie West in the Ashanti Region has supplied Personal Protective Equipment(PPEs) worth GH& 40,000.00 to Hospitals in the Amansie West District as part of their social responsibility to fight COVID-19.

The equipment are Examination Gloves, Nose Mask, Methylated Spirit, Hand Sanitizers, Liquid Soaps, Veronica Buckets, Distilled Water and Tissue Paper. These equipment was donated to the Agroyesum Hospital, Adubia, Agroyesum, and Datano hospitals respectively.

Speaking to the Media, the Board Chairman of the Association, Mr. Ohene Baffour Kuma said the reason for the support is to equip the health officials with the necessary tools needed to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

He used the opportunity to advised Ghanaians to adhere to the safety measures outlined by Government and Ghana Health Service.

The Nurse Manager at the Agroyesum Govt hospital Rev Mary Assumpta Taabazuing who received the items on behalf of the four health facilities thanked the Association for their kind gesture. She called on other Stakeholders, Non Government Organizations and individuals to come and support the hospital.

This falls in line with the President’s vision to increase healthcare facilities an strengthen the existing ones in the country, based on the country’s infrastructure deficit.

COVID-19 Fight: Group supports Cocoa Farmers In Amansie West

As part of social intervention measures to minimize the risk of Coronavirus(COVID-19), the Amansie West District(CCP) Co-operative Cocoa Farmers and Marketing Union Ltd at Manso Antoakrom has presented some items worth Gh¢25,000 to 3100 Cocoa Farmers in 47 communities in the district.
The items are 50 Veronica buckets, 3100 hand sanitizers, 100 liquid soaps(small size), 36 gallons of liquid soaps(25litres) and 300 posters to educate the public.

Presenting the items to the farmers, president of the Union, Rev Thomas Oppong said the reason for making the farmers is to help reduce the risk of transmission of the Coronavirus.
Rev Oppong educated the farmers to take precautionary measures set out by health professionals for them to follow, and also wash their hands with soap under running water for at least 50 seconds or use sanitizers.

Additionally, Rev Oppong advised them to keep a distance of approximately one meter from people with signs of the disease and try not to touch their face with their hands as the virus could penetrate through the mucous membranes.
Cocoa farmers and officers of health facilities in the district who received the items expressed gratitude to the farmers union and promised to use them for the purpose intended.
They respectively appealed to other stakeholders to emulate same to help in the fight against the deadly COVID-19.

The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) has urged the government to be transparent and accountable to Ghanaians on how it spends the COVID-19 Trust
The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) has urged the government to be transparent and accountable to Ghanaians on how it spends the COVID-19 Trust Funds and donations.
The Coalition, however, commended the government on the bold steps taken to fight the spread of the coronavirus in Ghana.

This was contained in a press release issued by Mrs. Beauty Emefa Narteh, the Executive Secretary of GACC.
The Coalition also commended private companies, individuals, religious organizations, and civil society organizations that have donated to the COVID-19 fund and/or are implementing interventions to help their communities cope with the effects of this pandemic.
The Coalition reminded government and all persons who deal with or on behalf of the government in expending the COVID-19 funds to ensure transparency and accountability to Ghanaians prevail.

Following the coronavirus lockdown in the Greater Kumasi by the Government as part of preventive measures to curb the spread of the virus, the Ebenezer Society within Breman Circuit of Methodist church Ghana, in the Suame Municipality has distributed food items to the Needy and Vulnerable persons within 14 societies of the church in the Municipality.

The items running into Eleven Thousand Ghana cedis (1100,000) included 50bags of rice,Boxes of litres of cooking oil,Boxes of tins of sardines was meant to help the beneficiaries to cushion them against the hard times due to the lockdown.

The Superintendent Minister of Breman Circuit of Methodist Church Very Rev Benjamin Anson who led the church during the Presentation of the items to the needy and Vulnerable people in the 14 societies stressed that the donation would support over 250 people within the circuit as residents were faced with basic challenges due to restrictions of movement .

He used the opportunity to encourage other wealthy people to support the needy , stressing it was high time the affluent also played their part in this disruptive times.

He stated : “Service to humanity is service to God. Therefore, there is the need for Stakeholders, including
benevolent organizations ,
kind hearted people and churches to give back to society ,especially the Needy and the Vulnerable within our churches and entire communities”.

Meanwhile, some of the beneficiaries who received the items expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Bremang Circuit of Methodist Church for the kind gesture extended to them .

The Leadership of the Apostolic church Ghana, Oforikrom Assembly in Kumasi, have strengthen their sweet relationship between the management and children of Ashan children home at Denase in the Afigya Kwabre south district of Ashati region which was established eight years ago.

The leadership of the church used the opportunity of the government directives on lockdown protocol to presented a cheque of Ghc 4,000.00 to the management of the home to help them support their activities during this COVID-19 pandemic period.

COVID 19: WIAMOASE CITIZENS OVERWHELMED WITH NZEMAHENE’S BENEVOLENCE:ABSORBS NURSES LIGHT BILLS.

Over 700 households at Wiamoase in the Sekyere South district have received huge support with the provision of assorted food relief package by a key philantropist,Nana Nkansah Boadu Ayeboafo,the Nzemahene of Kwadaso Municipality.

Accompanied by the Wiamoasehene Nana Boakye Yiadom,the Nzemahene led a team of young men to embark on a house to house distribution of food items to aid the needy.

The exercise which lasted throughout the day was to enable vulnerable ones like the poor,elderly, persons with disability, widows and single parents including his workers to survive the challenging moment of the pandemic.The items included 10,000 pieces of 5kg bags of rice, 10,000 bottles of frytol oil and 20,000 tins of sardines.

Additionally,six health facilities, SDA and Salvation Army hospitals at Wiamoase, Jamasi Health Centre, Asamang SDA and Agona Gov’t hospitals and Kona Health Centre were beneficiaries of the largesse.Prior to that, Nana Ayeboafo had absorbed 3 months electricity bills for about 100 nurses together with some food interventions at Aburaso Methodist Hospital and Nwamase Community Clinic in the Kwadaso Municipality, an occasion performed by his spokesman, Hon.Obour Sika. lnterracting with the press at Wiamoase, Nana explained thus.

Interacting with the press, Nana Ayeboafo commended the efforts of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo and the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in stemming the spread of the virus.”Many families in this community find it difficult to make ends meet and l urge the affluent indigenes to forego self-centeredness by offering their widow’s mite to lessen the hardships of the less privileged”,he declared.
